The few trailers we’ve seen for Solo: A Star Wars Story haven’t inspired much confidence in the film’s quality. Not to mention the movie was mired in plenty of production woes, with directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller axed with only a few weeks of filming to go.
So, color us surprised to hear that people are reacting favorably to the latest Star Wars spinoff. Even Mark Hamill, who Star Wars fans know as Luke Skywalker, is heaping praise on the movie, saying he can’t wait to see it again. I’m suddenly much more optimistic.
What are people saying? Well, the action set pieces appear to be particularly good, while Donald Glover, who plays a younger Lando Calrissian, steals the show. There’s also plenty of praise for actor Alden Ehrenreich, who had the unenviable job of following in the footsteps of Harrison Ford.
You can see some of the early reactions below. Solo: A Star Wars Story hits theaters on May 25, 2019.
The wait for May 25th seems longer all of a sudden.
