Siri for iPad mockupEarly last month, a report surfaced claiming iOS 6 would bring Siri to the iPad. The claim surmised that, more than anything, Apple struggled with "Siri's UI than actual functionality." A corroborating claim on Monday is bringing even more heat to the rumor, saying that Apple figured out how to implement its voice assistant by limiting her presence on the iPad's screen.

According to 9to5 Mac, Siri is going to look different than how we've come to know her on the iPhone 4S. Instead of hogging the entire display, Siri will take up a fraction of the iPad's available screen real estate (as seen in the mockup above). "The Siri iPad interface takes very little space over the iPad interface currently in use, and is designed with the same linen texture as on the iPhone 4S," 9to5 Mac said. "Siri for iPad also work from the lock screen."

Apple is said to be testing Siri functionality on both the new iPad and iPad 2, but sources are saying only the new iPad is likely to get the feature. We'll find out in less than a week if Siri is coming to the new iPad (and iPad 2) when WWDC kicks off on June 11.
