One of our favorite Kickstarter campaigns has reached a happy conclusion. Yacht Club Games has successfully raised enough funds to complete their 2D action game Shovel Knight with $311,502 in donated money.

The team originally asked for only $75,000, putting them at over four times the requested amount. Thanks to completing all of its stretch goals, Yacht Club will launch their full vision of the game with a boss rush mode, gender swaps, four playable characters and achievements.

Frequent updates with character designs, videos and screenshots are what led the small team to successfully raise trust from their 14,749 donators. The team also is made up of former WayForward Technologies developers, specialists is recreating old-school games comparable to Shovel Knight.

If you missed out on the Kickstarter campaign, Yacht Club Games is still taking donations until April 30th through PayPal, and voting is still going on at Steam Greenlight. A blog will soon be set up so donators can follow on the progress.

Be sure to continue following one of the most exciting indie games of the year here at TechnoBuffalo as well. Shovel Knight is being developed for the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U alongside versions for PC, Mac, and Linux.
