Still yet to be rivaled, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor is my favorite game from this current console cycle. Not even Big Boss and his brand of open-world guerrilla warfare could top this ultra violent take on J.R.R. Tolkien’s universe, and with the disappointing fashion in which a few recent hits have unfolded, it doesn’t look like it will be dethroned in the near future.

Well, not until Nov. 29, at any rate.

If you haven’t given Monolith Production’s excellent open-world action game a chance, there has never been a better time. The game and all of its DLC are available now through Bundle Stars for just $5.99, and that is a price nobody should snub. Licensed games don’t get much better than Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, nor do they break free from the shadow of their brands as definitively either.

Shadow of Mordor does just that, able to stand on its own without its legendary setting or cast of Hobbits, elves, and wizards to populate its bleak gaming world. Be sure to pick it up.

And if you’ve got the fantasy bug flowing, Bundle Stars also has the Enhanced Editions of Baldur’s Gate, Badur’s Gate II, and Icewind Dale all available for $7.99 each. The three are some of the best PC RPGs of all time, and they still hold up to this day as standards by which others in the genre can be compared.
