It's been more than two years since Serial, a spin-off podcast of the radio program This American Life, took the podcasting world by storm with its investigation of the murder of Hae Min Lee.

The show dove deep into Lee's case, using extensive reporting to raise questions about the case's conclusion. The show even spoke to persons involved in the case, including Adnan Syed, who was ultimately convicted of killing Lee.

Now, Serial will be back for another show, but this time it'll be a spin-off. Variety reports the creative team behind Serial has formed Serial Productions, which will release a new podcast called S-Town, about a murder in rural Alabama, this March.

According to Variety, production of S-Town began when a man asked This American Life to investigate the son of a wealthy family, who was apparently bragging that he got away with murder. Once the investigation began, another person wound up dead, and things just got weirder from there.

"This story takes too many unexpected turns," said Ira Glass, creator of This American Life. "Every episode is a new surprise. And the story has this feeling and mood that's different from anything else we've done. I don't think people have heard a show like this."

While the creative Serial team is involved, audiences will hear an unfamiliar voice when S-Town is released. Variety says Brian Reed, who agreed to investigate the murder, will be the host. Serial's previous two seasons were hosted by co-creator Sarah Koenig.

S-Town is set to debut in March with all episodes planned for release at once.
