Seasons of Heaven is an upcoming Nintendo Switch exclusive from third-party studio AnyArts Productions in France. They company just dropped a teaser trailer that shows some of the game running in real-time on the Switch.

It looks great. It’s running on Unreal Engine 4, too, a first for a Nintendo platform. Here’s the clip, posted by Gameblog. We grabbed some stills from the video for your consideration and posted them in the gallery above.

This Seasons of Heaven video was a teaser, the real deal comes next week

As the video ends, AnyArts Productions reveals that the full trailer will drop on Dec. 19 at 9 p.m. PT. That’s midnight my time, so I’ll catch it the morning after.

One has to wonder where Nintendo lands on this third party effort from a lesser known studio. They could put tons of support behind it as an early, gorgeous looking game like Sony might, or they could distance themselves until release to see how it goes. Only time will tell on that front.

As for Seasons of Heaven? It looks wonderful, as a lot of Unreal Engine 4 efforts can. I dig the notion of a boy and his dog in the wilderness, and I think I even spotted a katana stuck in the ground during the teaser.

The game is based on a book by the same name, though I’m not familiar with it. Anyone read it and care to share some opinions? My search results have been lacking.

We’ll have the full reveal trailer for Seasons of Heaven when it drops.
