Believe it or not Samsung still makes flip phones. The South Korean company has actually released a series of Android-powered clamshells in the past few years, and now we’re getting a look at what could be its best one yet.
The device, which we still know only by its model number SM-G9198, was spotted this week on its way through Chinese certification at the TENAA. It packs a pair of internal and external 3.91-inch 768 × 1280 displays and comes in black. The design actually looks pretty nice based on these images. It almost makes us miss our old flip phones. Almost.
Rumor has it Samsung’s new phone will also pack a high-end Snapdragon 808 processor, a 16-megapixel rear camera and a secondary 5-megapixel camera for selfies. It may also offer 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage and run Android 5.1.1 Lollipop along with some of the company’s own software.
For flip phone fans, this may be the best option out there once it actually launches. However, The device will likely be limited to China. That’s where Samsung sells these devices, though maybe that could change if the company sees enough interest in its latest entry.
