Samsung is expected to offer a refined version of its TouchWiz UI for the Galaxy S6 when it’s announced next week. Now, we may be getting a look at the new software thanks to a handful of leaked screenshots posted to the XDA-Developers forum.
There’s a new Geo News app for tracking dangerous weather and other natural disasters. We also see new versions of Samsung’s S Note note-taking app, Gear Manager, Kids Mode and Optical Reader, which lets you quickly scan business cards to grab someone’s contact info. Overall it looks like Samsung’s taken some influence from Google’s new Material Design style here, though it still feels like classic TouchWiz to us.
Samsung is expected to announce the Galaxy S6 this Sunday at Mobile World Congress, so it won’t be long before we get an official look at its updated software. Rumor has it the company could also unveil a new mobile payments service based on LoopPay’s technology it acquired earlier this month.
You can actually try out some of these new apps for yourself if you’re interested. Just hit the source link to download them, though it sounds like these versions may only work on the Galaxy S4.
