The Galaxy Note 10.1 might be Samsung's hot new tablet, but the firm just announced an amazing deal for anyone interested in its smaller, less powerful Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 device. Beginning on August 19th, and for two weeks only, Samsung will sell the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 Student Edition that comes packaged with a USB adapter, a unique white color scheme and a keyboard dock. The best part? This package costs $249.99, the exact price you would pay if you wanted just the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0.
We reviewed the tab back in April and, as a quick refresher, it runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and is equipped with a 3-megapixel rear-facing camera, a VGA front-facing camera, GPS, 8GB of build-in storage, a microSD card slot for adding up to 32GB of storage, an IR blaster for controlling your TV, USB 2.0, Bluetooth 3.0 and a 7-inch display with a 1024 x 600-pixel resolution. Honestly, it's not a bad package considering that you're getting $100 worth of accessories for just $50 more than the 8GB Nexus 7, which doesn't offer a rear-facing camera or expandable storage. The trade-off, of course, is that the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 doesn't run Jelly Bean.
Samsung said the deal will be available from Best Buy, Amazon, Tiger Direct, Costco and Fry's.
