Samsung is reportedly testing a foldable smartphone, according to a leak out of China posted on social network Weibo. The company is reportedly working toward getting it out the door sometime in January and is currently testing two different configurations, the rumor said.

SamMobile, which also covered the report, said it heard similar mumblings from its own sources about the foldable smartphone, currently code named "Project Valley." Samsung is reportedly testing variations with either a Snapdragon 620 or Snapdragon 820 chipset, the latter of which it may even be testing as it considers the chip for other devices, such as the Galaxy S7. Other hardware features reportedly include 3GB of rAM and a microSD card slot.

Details of how the foldable phone will work weren't provided, but SamMobile suggests it may not launch of a global scale if it ever does hit the market.
