Samsung has begun rolling out its Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update for the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge. The software is said to be hitting handsets on T-Mobile in the U.S. right now, and it brings bug fixes and performance improvements, as well as new features.
One of the biggest changes is a new exposure control in the Camera app, which lets users focus on their subject and then use a simple slider to adjust exposure — just like on the iPhone. And that’s not the only feature Samsung has borrowed from Apple.
Android 5.1.1 also introduces a “parallax” wallpaper effect, which allows the wallpaper to move behind your app icons to deliver a 3D-like effect. You can see it demonstrated in the hands-on video below from SamMobile:
Other changes found in Android 5.1.1 include the ability to disable the S Finder and Quick Connect buttons in the notifications shade, and plenty of performance improvements.
If you have a Galaxy S6 or S6 edge on T-Mobile, you can expect Android 5.1.1 to be arriving over-the-air shortly. You can also download and install the update through Samsung’s KIES app for Mac and PC.
