Samsung’s Galaxy S8 is a drop dead gorgeous phone. Unfortunately, it’s also fragile, which Samsung may remedy by introducing the Galaxy S8 Active.

According to SamMobile, Samsung’s Galaxy S8 Active model will released some time later this year, and will be an AT&T exclusive like past Active models have been. Few other details about the phone are known at this time.

It’ll be interesting to see how Samsung incorporates the rugged design with the S8’s Infinity display. If you remember, the S7 Active opted for a flat display instead of a curved one. Samsung’s Active models have also ditched the glass back panel for a hard plastic with a soft rubber outer frame for extra durability

If it’s anything like the S7 Active, it’ll bevery durable

We tested it out the durability of the S7 Active quite harshly and it held up surprisingly well. We dropped the Galaxy S7 Active from 400 feet in the air using a drone, and although some of the buttons were mashed up, the phone still worked.

For those of you who prefer a more rugged phone, the S8 Active might be for you.
