Samsung has an entirely new Smart Camera portfolio that aims to bridge the gap between smartphones and point-and-shoots. But a Galaxy Camera these are not. But don’t fret. They’re all coming with new technology called Smart Camera 2.0, which makes sharing photos to your favorite social networks as easy as pie.
The lineup includes the WB250F/WB200F, WB800F, WB30F, DV150F and ST150F. Each and every one will come with the kind of functionalities and upgrades with a “One Click, Simply” concept Samsung is attempting to champion. This basically “enables connected devices to seamlessly connect so images can be shared flawlessly in one motion.”
There a new Smart Camera app, too, which allows smartphone users to download the app (Android and iOS) and connect directly with Smart Cameras through Wi-Fi. Additionally, the Smart Camera app introduces new features such as Remote Viewfinder and Mobile Link, and also a new AutoShare tool.
WB250F:
This one is pegged as the flagship. As part of the WB long-zoom series, the WB250F includes 18x optical zoom, 14.2-megapixel BSI CMOS sensor (or CCD for the WB200F model), 24mm lens, touch LCD and a pop-up flash for stopping action or taking wild bar photos.
WB800F:
Another notch to the long-zoom line, this 21x optical zoom and 16-megapixel BSI CMOS sensor is built for low-light. It’s built with a hybrid interface, Samsung said, so users have more flexibility when controlling the experience. Touch screen? Yep, it’s there.
WB30F:
This is touted as a “mini model,” which could make a nice companion for a first-time owner. The camera includes 10x optical zoom and 24mm, wide angle lens, slim frame (17mm thick) and features like Magic Frame and Live Panorama for “enhanced” photography. Also key: multiple colors, including black, white, red, purple, and pink.
DV150F:
This one is strange because it comes with a 2.7-inch FRONT LCD, and Samsung specifically highlights that fact for self portraits. I’m not sure how many people will use that as a criteria for their future camera buying, but there’s always a consumer out there who fits the mold. The camera itself sports a 16.2-megapixel CCD sensor, F2.5 25mm bright lens and 5x optical zoom, and an aluminum body for solid construction.
ST150F:
This one rounds out the boyband lineup of Smart Cameras, and includes a 16.2-megapixel CCD sensor, F2.5 Bright Lens (5x optical zoom, 25mm), and four different colors for those who are bored with white or black.
