Without nary a word in the way of an announcement, the Galaxy Stellar has shown up on Best Buy’s site.
While a mid-range Android phone is not usually enough to get us intrigued, the Galaxy Stellar has some mysteries surrounding it. First off is the enigmatic “Starter Mode” that has shown up in some leaked information. We assume it is simply a training system for new phone owners, and not something to get that concerned with. The big mystery, however, is the leaked info that it comes pre-installed with Amazon Apps.
So far we don’t know exactly why the Amazon Apps were worthy of a mention in a Verizon store placard that leaked out, but we don’t see any mention of them on the Best Buy listing. Right now the phone is listed only at its off-contract price of $449.99, but it should be $99 once the Verizon offers kick in and you sign up for two years. Once the Galaxy Stellar starts making its way into consumer’s hands hopefully this Amazon mystery will be solved.
For now its a mid-range Ice Cream Seandwich with LTE … and a tantalizing mystery.
