Despite its design comprising of a thin metal frame sandwiched in between two slabs of glass, the Galaxy S8 Plus is actually a pretty durable smartphone. At least, that’s what a new drop test uploaded to the EverythingApplePro YouTube channel would lead you to believe.
In the 12-minute video, the Galaxy S8 Plus is pit against the iPhone 7 Plus — but the results aren’t quite what you’d expect. Even though it sports a stronger aluminum frame, the latter actually warps and winds up out of commission long before the former’s Infinity Display shatters.

We’re blown away
We have to say, we’re blown away by how long it took for the Galaxy S8 Plus’ screen to crack. Sure, the rear shattered almost immediately. The most important thing, however, is that after an onslaught of aggressive drops, it’s still usable. It’s just a shame the same can’t be said about the iPhone 7 Plus.
