galaxy s lightray metropcs

The rumors were true: MetroPCS officially announced the Samsung Galaxy S Lightray 4G on Friday. How much longer can a name get?

The phone is essentially the carrier’s version of Verizon’s Samsung DROID Charge, and features the same 4.3-inch Super AMOLED screen, a 1GHz processor, an 8-megapixel camera, 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera for video chat and a 16GB microSD card. The Galaxy S Lightray 4G also supports live TV through the phone’s Dyle TV application, but viewing is only supported in a few markets. If you’re down for an older Android smartphone without a contract, you can nab a Galaxy S Lightray 4G for $459 — not exactly pocket change.
