Samsung published a video yesterday that promises "something new" during the Consumer Electronics Show next month. Speculation immediately began building up and there was, at the very least, discussion that Samsung was already prepared to launch its next flagship smartphone.

As we said yesterday, though, Samsung is not going to launch the Galaxy S IV at CES. CNET spoke with the firm recently and said the company will instead focus on its new televisions and that there isn't any "major mobile news." We thought there might have been a small chance that Samsung had plans to unveil the Galaxy Note 7, but it's possible we'll see that during Mobile World Congress in February (if at all).

As we argued yesterday, it's way too soon for Samsung to introduce the Galaxy S IV. You'll have to wait until next year for more news on that phone.
