Samsung Galaxy S II Android Jelly Bean Update Now Available

True to its word, Samsung is now rolling out the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update to the older Galaxy S II smartphones. It's a pretty impressive move on Samsung's part, especially as most phone makers seem to be focused on updating only the most recent devices.

The update includes many features found in the Galaxy Note II and the Galaxy S III, including TouchWiz Nature UX, the amazing performance enhancements included in Google's Project Butter, a customizable home screen, better notifications, improved Google Search and Google Now. In other words, this is absolutely an update you don't want to skip.

SamMobile noted that Jelly Bean is being pushed out in phases and that it's not hitting every carrier right now (we still have no word on when, if at all, it will hit U.S. devices), but the update can be applied either over-the-air or using Samsung's Kies desktop software.
