Samsung has announced that its latest tablet, the Galaxy Note 10.1, will launch worldwide later this month, available in both Wi-Fi-only and Wi-Fi + 3G variants. The slate, which comes with a built-in S Pen — like the original Galaxy Note — boasts "the functionality and precision of a pen and paper on a 10.1-inch large display," allowing users to "amplify their creativity, productivity, and learning ability."

The Galaxy Note 10.1 will pack a 1.4GHz quad-core Exynos processor, 2GB of RAM, and a WXGA (1280 x 800) display. There's also a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, and a 1.9-megapixel front-facing camera. These internals make this one of the most impressive tablets — in terms of specifications — available right now.

The device will be powered by Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, with plenty of Samsung's own software pre-installed, including TouchWiz, Live Panel, AllShare Play, AllShare Cast, Music Hub, Game Hub, Learning Hub, Readers Hub, and more.

Simon Stanford, Vice President of Samsung's UK & Ireland Telecommunications & Networks Division, believes the Galaxy Note's S Pen provides users with a new way to use and experience a tablet:

"Following the success of the very first Galaxy Note which we launched at the end of last year, we're delighted that our UK customers will now be able to experience the evolution of this device for themselves. The Galaxy Note 10.1 is a product we are very excited about and will offer our customers a new way to use and experience a tablet device. As well as being able to consume content such as videos, photos, document and the Internet, the Galaxy Note 10.1 also gives them the power to produce, create and customise that same content – something they won't get from any other product on the market."

Samsung has also released a new video that demonstrates the tablet's user interface and its features, which you can watch above. The company also notes that a third Galaxy Note 10.1 variant — which will feature Wi-Fi + LTE connectivity — will be available later this year.
