Samsung may charge into the new year head-on, with two new smartphones apparently set to launch in Jan. 2015. SamMobile reports that the Galaxy A7 and Galaxy Grand Max could both hit the market next month.

We’ve already heard a fair amount about the Galaxy A7, but a leaked product magazine appears to confirm the smartphone’s specs. Samsung’s next metal handset allegedly comes equipped with a 5.2-inch 1080p AMOLED display, a 1.5GHz octa-core processor, a 13-megapixel rear camera, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, a 2500mAh battery, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage with microSD support and runs Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box.

The Galaxy Grand Max comes as more of a surprise, though based on its name we’re expecting another mid-range plastic handset. The upcoming smartphone apparently packs a 5.2-inch 720p LCD display, a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, a 2500mAh battery, a 13-megapixel rear camera, a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter, 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage. It ships running Android 4.4.

Both devices are reportedly set to launch next month in South Korea, though for now that’s just a rumor. There’s also no word on whether the new smartphones will make their way to the U.S. or any other markets, though hopefully Samsung has plans for a global rollout as well.
