Samsung’s 11.6-inch Chromebook is already one of the cheapest laptops on the market at $250 for the Wi-Fi-only version, but now Amazon has chopped $30 off of the price, undercutting even Google’s own Play Store. The deal is available for all Amazon customers, but there’s no word on how long it will last, so if you’re thinking about picking up a Chromebook now’s the time to make up your mind.

Here’s a quick refresher on what you get with the Samsung Chromebook: the 11.6-inch screen features a 1336 x 768-pixel resolution, while under the hood it has a dual-core Exynos 5250 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, an SD card reader, HDMI-out and USB 3.0 ports, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and a 30Wh battery that promises 6.5 hours of use per charge. The lightweight laptop runs Google’s Chrome OS, meaning it’s mostly using Google’s web services and can’t do much without an Internet connection—unfortunately Amazon isn’t offering a similar discount and the 3G model.

The Samsung Chromebook makes for a great laptop on-the-go, but won’t really cut it as your primary driver for getting work done if you need x86-based apps. If you’re looking for a laptop with a little more muscle and don’t mind paying for it be sure to check out our back to school guide.
