Samsung has taken to its YouTube channel to share a short commercial showing off its Bixby Voice assistant, which launched in the United States on Wednesday.
The feature arrived after what felt like a lifetime of delays, giving users the facility to do alert settings, request information and send payments using their voice.
Here's it in action:
"With voice capabilities, Galaxy S8 and S8+ users can easily activate voice commands to get more done in their day – simply and efficiently," says Samsung.
"Users can ask Bixby to complete simple tasks, like turning on the flashlight or taking a selfie, or complex tasks, like "remind me to pick up milk at the grocery store."
Judging by the reaction to Bixby Voice on Twitter, Samsung's managed to squash the consensus that the feature's linguistic capabilities are unsatisfactory compared to Siri.
We're still waiting to give it a go, so we can't comment on its usability — but we'll let you know what we think as soon as we do.
