One new rumor has it that Borderlands 2 will be playable on Android devices that rock NVIDIA's Tegra 3 processor.

According to Android and Me, Gearbox Software brought a Tegra 3 tablet to the recent PDXLAN 19 event in Portland, Oregon. The tablet was running Borderlands 2, the company's upcoming sequel for the looting, hoarding, gun toting, RPG from a few years back.

Android and Me did not back the report up with images or video of the event itself, so this one is being filed below the "rumor" header until otherwise confirmed or denied by Gearbox Software themselves. If and when that happens, we'll be sure to update this story.

If this news is legitimate, it might be a huge win for Android gamers and fans of NVIDIA's mobile work. A game like Borderlands 2 sports PC and console level quality, design and graphics. Having that arrive on the mobile platform would do wonders for the stability of the market and the perspective of its user base.

Borderlands 2 is currently set to launch for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC platforms either later this year or early 2013. If it releases for the Android platform at the same time, that simultaneous release would be the first of its kind.

Of course, that's assuming the fact that this story is 100% true to begin with.

We'll have more on this potentially huge bit of news as it comes.
