Yeah, this is just getting totally ridiculous. The once “scrappy little indie game that could” is now one of the biggest gaming phenomenon of the last decade. Rocket League developer Psyonix confirmed last night that the game has reached 25 million users since it first launched back in July 2015.
This figure is up from 15 million from when Psyonix last announced numbers back in May. A 10 million player hike over 7 months. Not too bad at all!
Rocket League still has yet to dry up
This is the game that just keeps on giving, isn’t it? The game was already the most downloaded PlayStation 4 title of 2016, and the numbers show that it still has plenty of life left in it.
I remember back when people were afraid that interest wouldn’t last and the servers would be barren within a year of launch. Well, those worries have been addressed. It’s not happening anytime soon.
