American Gods season 1 Blu-ray review

by Sean P. Aune | October 17, 2017

What happens to gods of old when people stop worshipping them? What happens when what humans care about changes? Does it give rise to new gods?

Beyond that, we’re not touching the plot. Why? The mystery of what exactly is going on is a large portion of the fun of the series. Just know it is based on a novel by Neil Gaiman – best known for his classic comic series Sandman – and is co-created and co-written by Bryan Fuller (Pushing Daisies, Hannibal) and that should give you a good idea of what you can expect from the writing and the show visually.

This is one of the easiest Blu-ray recommendations, to be frank. A stellar cast, with great writing and you can’t miss. The only thing that keeps this from being a perfect score is a few of the extras are a bit dry, but if you’re after just the series, you’re in for a great time with no regrets.
