We’ve already got a pretty good look at a few of the hideous monsters we’ll be facing in Resident Evil Revelations 2 in a few screenshots, and Capcom has two new trailers showing off the ugly beasties in motion.

First up is the Revenant, hideous beings stitched together from the remains of multiple people and other unnecessary organisms.

These creatures appear to be stitched together remains of various corpses with no care for how they would look. They can both deal out and take a lot of damage, which means even just one of them can be a major threat. As a virus within their body gains traction, it creates a “core.” Destroying that will end all vital activity.

Following these “medical experiments gone wrong” are the Glasp, a newly announced breed of enemy which resemble giant insects looking for human hosts to lay their larva in. Poor Barry in this trailer. Ewww… Capcom describes them as:

This creature can be found naturally occurring on the island following its exposure to the virus. It secretes a gas from its body that impairs the vision of any animal in its vicinity, and uses this advantage to stealthily approach and attack prey without warning. With strong, vice-like legs it not only grips and holds on to prey, but it can also easily break human bone in half.

Thanks for that while I get ready for an afternoon snack, Capcom. Resident Evil Revelations 2 will be released for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PS Vita, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC on Feb. 24. The game will be released in four episodes with a new chapter coming out every week.
