Everyone is all about Barry Burton these days. The fan favorite character from the first Resident Evil is finally making a return to the franchise in Resident Evil Revelations 2, and now we finally have a good look at him.

Man, it's not exactly the shock we saw when Old Snake burst onto the scene, but time has been catching up to our gun-toting friend.

Barry is getting up there in years now apparently. After all, Raccoon City happened at least a decade ago, and Claire Redfield is no longer an early 20s-something biker girl either. His deepening wrinkles and slicked back balding pattern give him the sense of an aging action star, and he even has a teenage daughter he needs to look out for.

Actually, that is the theme of today's trailer, confirming my beliefs for the story. Barry Burton is looking for his missing daughter, Moira, and believes she has been taken to this infested island. He brings along Claire Redfield to help, but in the process becomes separated from his partner. Of course, much of the hype for Resident Evil Revelations 2 revolves around the relationship between Claire's fighting abilities and Moira's back-up skills.

Barry, it seems, is on his own, leaving me to wonder if he has his own segments of the campaign which involve just gun blazing action. Granted, I won't throw the alarms on just yet, but we all remember what happened the last time Capcom broke up a Resident Evil campaign into multiple paths… Granted, Resident Evil Revelations 2 is a much smaller game in scope, and I believe that everything will be balanced in the end.

Resident Evil Revelations 2 will be released for the Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC on Feb 17th. That "placeholder date" Capcom pointed out to fans proved to be true in the end after all, huh? Surprise, surprise.
