Many of the games from the late 1990s and early 2000s simply do not hold up from a visual perspective. Muddy, flat textures and boring lighting make a bunch of the games from that era tough to look at. Capcom was doing something else entirely when it put out the Resident Evil remake and Resident Evil 0 on the Nintendo GameCube. Even today, it still looks pretty good.

It’s not surprising, then, that they eventually decided to re-release both in remastered editions.

This week, just before E3, we get the first screenshots from Resident Evil 0, along with its official trailer.

Resident Evil 0 puts you in the shoes of Rebecca Chambers, one of the STARS members from Resident Evil, and escaped convict Billy Coen as they investigate a crashed train and a guy that can control leeches. We’re looking forward to seeing how the switching in this older game holds up compared to some of the newer iterations on the idea.

Resident Evil 0 releases for PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One in early 2016.
