Activision will publish a new game that's based on characters from AMC's television take on Robert Kirkman's The Walking Dead. This new game, developed by Terminal Reality, has absolutely nothing to do with Telltale's episodic take on Kirkman's universe. It's a first-person shooter, and supposedly has elements of survival.

The Walking Dead: Survival Instict has been unveiled with a brand new gameplay trailer, you'll find it at the head of this post. From here on out, you'll find my opinion of this early footage.

Right now, I am not impressed. Telltale took The Walking Dead to an impressive height with their season of episodes. Their game is a masterpiece, both in terms of visuals and unique choices. The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct looks insanely bland in the trailer above. It looks like a poor man's copy of Left 4 Dead or Dead Island, and it does so with graphics that feel five or six years old.

Things might change, and I really hope they do, but The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct is looking a little bleak from where I stand. What do you think?
