Red Dead Redemption 2, the long-awaited sequel (or is it prequel?) to Rockstar’s 2010 opus is set to release later this year. We got to see a teaser in late 2016, but haven’t seen hide nor hair of it since. The next place we see it, it seems, will be as a showpiece on Xbox Scorpio when Microsoft shows the system off. This comes via marketing materials obtained by Windows Central.
It isn’t verified yet that this will be happening at E3, but at least one other clue points to their E3 show being what the marketing materials refer to.
Oh and other games, too
Aside from Red Dead Redemption, Forza Motorsport 7 will be headlining the show. Sources told Windows Central the game is “utterly stunning” and runs in true 4K. Crackdown 3 and State of Decay 2 were also mentioned in the materials. Forza tends to be a centerpiece of their E3 show, with Microsoft unveiling the game, the car appearing on the cover, and showing off the first footage. That seems to point toward E3 as a likely venue for all of this.
Third party titles mentioned in materials include Call of Duty‘s next entry, Madden NFL 17, FIFA 17 and Star Wars Battlefront II.
For Microsoft, 2017 is the year of Scorpio. But if the astrological calendar has any say, we can probably expect the system to drop sometimes between October 23 and November 21.
