If you see Dwayne Johnson barreling toward you, as unlikely as that is, you’d know what to do. You’d get the heck out of the way. You’d dive out of the way. So what’s big enough to make the Rock move? No, not one of the oversized beasts he’s facing off against in Rampage next month. No – it’s the Avengers.
Previously set to hit U.S. theaters on May 4, Disney moved Avengers: Infinity War forward to April 27 to match the movie’s worldwide release date. In response, The Rock’s monster movie Rampage is moving up from April 20 to April 13. That gives it two weeks as the biggest monster in theaters (assuming Black Panther isn’t still dominating theaters at that point) before the Avengers’ decade of work pays off in Infinity War.
Rampage, based very loosely on the classic arcade game of the same name, has Dwayne Johnson’s character, Davis Okoye, trying to stop a trio of – you guessed it – rampaging animals mutated to skyscraper-wrecking sizes through a genetic accident. Brad Peyton, who also directed Johnson in San Andreas, is helming the movie.
Rampage hits theaters April 13, 2018.
