When Slightly Mad Studios dropped a gorgeous 60 FPS trailer on us about a month ago, we theorized Project CARS would be delayed when the video and its accompanying blog post made no mention of the March 17th release date.

This week, it was indeed announced that Project CARS is delayed. PC gamers can look forward to the game on April 2, while PlayStation 4 and Xbox One owners will get it on April 7. The Wii U version is still set for ‘sometime in 2015.’

“Moving the release date was not an easy decision to make, as we know our fans are eager to get their hands-on on Project Cars,” said studio head Ian Bell in a statement about the delay. “But we know that these extra days will allow us to provide the best game experience that our fans deserve. We assure you the wait will be worth it when the game does arrive early April.”

This is the second delay for the game after it was pushed from November out to March. We’re looking forward to checking out the game’s huge list of tracks and seeing if it can stack up to the likes of Gran Turismo and Forza Motorsport in its pursuit of realism.
