Mortal Kombat

Who doesn't love a good guest star in fighting games these days? Darth Vader, Yoda, Link, and Spawn all appearing in SoulCalibur? Scorpion popping up in Injustice: Gods Among Us? Kratos in Mortal Kombat and SoulCalibur? It's become a kind of tradition to pull a popular character from a popular franchise and cram him into a universe where they have no canonical right to exist.

Mortal Kombat X is apparently next in line to land itself a star studded DLC pack, and the game hasn't even been released yet. Sources over at are reporting that a Predator DLC pack is in the works, and it will deliver two characters into the do-or-die fighting tournament. Of course, the Predator is a natural fit for the game considering he has no compunctions about murdering other beings.

The other character is CIA agent Colonel Al Dillon, the character played by Carl Weathers.

No other announcements about the DLC have been made other than this pretty glaring tease from series creator Ed Boon from last July. It's not very subtle, but its far enough into the past that everyone seemed to have forgotten about it.

It's interesting to point out though that the Predator franchise is owned by 20th Century Fox, and Mortal Kombat is currently owned by Warner Bros. The two corporations had to work out a deal to make this DLC a possible reality. As perfect of a fit as it is, did Warner Bros. not have its own iconic murderous character to loan to the Mortal Kombat franchise? I'm wracking my brains trying to think of a possible candidate.

It's just a rumor for now until Warner Bros. makes an official statement. Sounds legit to me, though. Mortal Kombat X will be released on the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC on April 14.
