Version 1.0 of the fan-made Pokémon Uranium released last week, and it seemed that the download links for the title had basically disappeared in all official capacities.
Sure enough, the creators had actually removed download links. However, that didn't happen for the reason most assumed. Fans thought Nintendo issued a Cease and Desist order on the makers of Pokémon Uranium. Instead, the developers insist that they removed the download links on their own.
Here's the tweet from their official account.
They go on to say that they'd heard word that Nintendo's lawyers had reached out to third party site's with takedown notices, so they acted before Nintendo got to them.
The download links can still be found, but the folks who made the game insist that you download with care as they have nothing to do with those files any more.
