Pokémon GO has a tough act to follow for its massively successful Squirtle Community Day, and it has chosen just the Pokémon to get it done. The ever popular Eevee will be out in full force, providing many opportunities to land shiny versions of the popular evolved forms.
In addition, Niantic also confirmed that this Community Day would take place over two days instead of the normal one. Eevee will appear on both Aug. 11 and 12 from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM, giving players who missed out a chance to play, as well as extra opportunities to get the shiny evolutions that normal players might need.
There currently is no news on how evolving an Eevee will affect the Pokémon’s moveset.
Rumors and rule changes
Squirtle’s Community Day was widely successful because of a curve ball that Niantic threw to get players more involved with one another. With a Pokémon as unpredictable as Eevee, speculation is abounding about how Niantic might try to shake up this particular day to make it even more special.
The most widely circulated rumor believes that this will be used as the opportunity to introduce Leafeon and Glaceon. Eevee’s Gen-4 Grass and Ice evolution types. Some believe that this event spans two days because each will be the final reward to completing all tasks at hand.
Other’s hope for a less random way of evolving Eevee. Currently, a player has just a thirty-three percent chance of getting the evolution they want, Flareon, Jolteon, or Vaporeon, once they choose to evolve their best Eevees. With the introduction of even more Eevee evolutions, the current evolution mechanic, as is, becomes even more unpredictable.
We’ll have to wait until Niantic provides more. Eevee Community Day will be held on Aug. 11 and 12 from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM.
