Pokéland appears to be the next mobile game in the Pokémon series from The Pokémon Company.

The title is in beta phase in Japan on both iOS and Android right now. It's currently only available in Japan, and the beta progress doesn't seem like it will carry over into the final version of the game.

Pokéland features Nintendo Account integration, so players might be able to earn rewards or use their Miis in the game somehow.

Pokéland's gameplay is supposedly similar to Pokémon Rumble, a 3D, button masher that released as a WiiWare game back on the Wii. The mobile title currently offers six islands, 52 stages and 134 different types of Pokémon to collect and play with. That sounds like a lot for a test phase.

There's no word on whether or not Pokéland will see a release beyond Japan, though the track record of the franchise on mobile indicates that we'll likely see it. If and when that day comes, we'll have the news for you. It sounds pretty rad, but who knows if it'll approach Magikarp Jumpa game where Magikarp can actually die.
