Another end to a long and cold winter means the start of a hopefully warm and refreshing spring. Does anybody miss the color “green” as much as I do?

Spring also marks the celebration of a new Spring Fever for PlayStation, meaning cheap video games throughout the month of March! Ignore that gorgeous sky, those comforting cherry blossoms, and the warm weather while you sit on your butt to play some newly released indie games at a discounted price! Sony has chosen eight games for this year’s selection.

I must be crazy because I am genuinely considering to pick up Shovel Knight yet again on a third platform! What a splendid little game that is, and my Vita has an open slot in my indie folder just waiting for it.

Actually, there isn’t a bad game among this line-up. The main stars I definitely want to check out at Titan Souls and Axiom Verge, but you can’t go wrong with Hotline Miami 2 or the long overdue ports of Metal Slug 3Bastion and Jamestown. HELLDIVERS is the only game on this list I have no knowledge of, but the screenshots and trailers also make it look like a game that is worth checking out.

In addition to the indie games, the PlayStation Store will also host a LEGO game sale, changing every week based on the property. Movies are also being slashed in price alongside them.

I often say there is nothing I appreciate more than cheap video games, but I think spring narrowly edges it out.

PlayStation, Steam and Xbox Live have made cheap video games a weekly occurrence. The beginning of spring comes just once a year. I can’t wait.
