The PlayStation Network Summer Sale is launching next week with a solid list of games, much better than the OnDemand sale Microsoft threw earlier this month. Bomberman Act: Zero? Really, Microsoft?

The sale starts on July 3rd with each game being reduced by 30%. PlayStation Plus subscribers will be awarded with a 50% discount.

  • Closure
  • Crysis
  • Infamous: Festival of Blood
  • Jurassic Park: The Game
  • Killzone 3 (Multiplayer)
  • NBA Jam: On Fire Edition
  • Pac-Man Championship Edition DX
  • Real Steel
  • Renegade Ops
  • Shadow of the Colossus HD
  • The House of the Dead III
  • Worms: Ultimate Mayhem

A few decent hits are worth your time and money on this list. The PlayStation Store blocks credit cards with foreign IP addresses, otherwise I'd finally give Crysis a try. Shadow of the Colossus HD, NBA Jam, inFamous: Festival of Blood, and Pac-Man Championship Edition DX are also a lot of fun.

As if PlayStation Plus wasn't looking more and more attractive everyday, remember the E3 announcement when a year long subscription will land you free games on top of exclusive demos and DLC. If you forgot, the list includes Virtua Fighter 5, inFAMOUS 2, Little Big Planet 2, Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine, Just Cause 2, Saints Row 2, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, Hard Corp: Uprising, Choplifter HD, Zombie Apocalypse Never Die Alone, and Sideway NY.

PlayStation Plus seems the way to go if discounts are your thing. Steam is still the king of digital distribution, but PSN is making a solid case for the leader of the console market. Now only if I had any friends who played on it.
