The PlayStation 4 is selling exceptionally well. How well? If Eurogamer‘s math is on point, the unit has moved at a pace of roughly one console sold every two seconds since its launch in 2013.

That amounts to more than 22.3 million PlayStation 4s sold on a worldwide level. In the company’s most recent financial report, they indicated that they sold 14.8m PS4s in the year between April 1, 2014 and March 31, 2015.

Awesome stuff.

It’s not so awesome on the handheld front, unfortunately. The combined sales of the PS Vita and PSP worldwide fell from 4.1 million to 3.3 million over the same year reported for the PlayStation 4. Sony did not split the numbers, but we imagine (hope) that the PS Vita saw the majority of that four million sold.

The PlayStation 4 did well enough to buoy Sony’s games division, though. Its the electronics maker’s biggest buck earner with more than $11.5 billion brought in.

Let’s see if they push some of that money into making the PS Vita into the success it should have been. Maybe some more marketing and top-tier development will do it?
