The PlayStation 4 is launching Friday, kicking off another console generation bound to last at least the better part of a decade. Rather than the typical groundbreaking graphical leap or gameplay advances we are used to seeing, the selling point of these new machines is promising far more connectivity than ever imagined before through a gaming console.
Both Microsoft and Sony have prepared a smartphone app for quick and easy access to their online offerings, and Sony has just made theirs available. If you are looking for a head start on your PlayStation 4 network settings, then head over to the App Store or Google Play to check out the new PlayStation companion app.
The app is an integral part of Sony’s PlayStation Network, making shopping through the console a thing of the past. The quick access store allows you to download games and demos and make purchases while on the move.
Social interactions through the PlayStation Network can also be handled from this app too, everything from organizing friends lists, chatting, checking out trophies, and having quick access to manuals, guides, and the PlayStation Blog.
