There’s no question – PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is huge. The announcement this summer that Microsoft had scored the game as an Xbox One exclusive was a megaton announcement for the company. Having one of the biggest games in years on your platform and not The Other Guys is a big deal. Now, PUBG is out and playable on Xbox One. We haven’t had the chance to dig in just yet, but Microsoft did send us a care package that you definitely have to see. It’s an air drop perfect for a PUBG player.

The box includes, aside from our review code:

  • A tiny frying pan, perfect for blocking bullets
  • A nice balaclava to wear when hitting people with a frying pan
  • A map of the game’s primary island
  • A PUBG-themed Xbox One controller

Stuff like this doesn’t often land on my desk, so I’m pretty thrilled. I’m looking forward to digging into the game as soon as possible so I can give you the skinny on just how the game performs on the Xbox One X and whether or not a total noob can last five minutes in the game.

The answer to that last question is no.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is available right now on Xbox One via the Xbox One Game Preview program.
