Google confirmed on Thursday that there’s an issue with this month’s security update, which is preventing it from being installed on Pixel units, leaving them vulnerable to a plethora of nasty exploits.
Not every handset is affected by the problem, though. It appears that the firmware won’t install on devices locked to the following carriers: Project Fi, Rogers and T-Mobile.
Pixel XL owners are in the clear
Strangely, it doesn’t look like the glitch is having an impact on the larger Pixel XL, as there hasn’t been a single report of the update failing to install — but we’ll keep our eyes peeled.
