Google can’t go for long stretches without its soon-to-be-announced flagship appearing in a new leak. Just this week, the Pixel 3 and the Pixel 3 XL were exposed while stored within protective cases. That follows what has been a nonstop inflow of rumors, reports, and leaks surrounding the high-end duo.
Now you can see the Pixel 3 XL for the gazillionth time, courtesy of Ishan Agarwal. The insider obtained multiple photos of Google’s top-of-the-line model and shared them with the world. In the photos, we’re reminded of what exactly Google intends on doing here.
The Pixel 3 XL will, of course, ship with a notch at the top of its display. It’ll be an edge-to-edge OLED screen, but the notch above and the front-facing speaker below might be noticeable depending on the user.
Because the photos show the flagship while active, we understand the Pixel Launcher won’t get overhauled. The layout seems to be identical to what’s already on previous Pixel phones. Yet there should be some features that go live on the Pixel 3 models and remain exclusives. Google needs to make its Pixel lineup appealing every year in that regard.
Here’s a closeup of the notch, which should have two lenses, an ambient light sensor, and a speaker:
Flip the Pixel 3 XL over, and this leak reveals a single-camera setup. That’s not surprising because all signs have indicated Google wants its secret algorithm to improve photos and videos. As for its specifications, the lens should be 12.2MP and capture up to 4K UHD video (30 frames per second).
The camera will take advantage of electronic image/video stabilization, too. Google prefers the software to elevate the experience rather than hardware due to short-term and long-term reliability.
Expect the Pixel 3 to make its global debut Tuesday, October 9. Google will announce its latest flagship and introduce additional products. During the same launch event, the Pixelbook 2 and the Home Hub should go official as well. TechnoBuffalo will have live coverage from New York City, so stay tuned for more information on everything.
