Google made several announcements today in New York City, but you don’t have to wait too long to get your hands on any of the new products.
The Pixel 3, Pixel Stand, and Home Hub are already up for pre-order. Google’s being aggressive this time around, providing a small gap between launch and release dates. By the end of the month, you could have a new phone and/or smart display to enjoy. Now it’s just a matter of getting units secured.
Here’s how to pre-order all of the stuff Google introduced.
Google Pixel 3
- Price: $799+ (Pixel 3) / $899+ (Pixel 3 XL)
- Storage: 64GB, 128GB
- Color(s): Just Black, Clearly White, Not Pink
The flagship duo is live, and it’ll probably be the most popular item that Google announced. Whether you’re getting the Pixel 3 or the Pixel 3 XL, we highly suggest you sprint over to the Google Store. Why? It’ll be out of stock or on backorder before you know it. Really, don’t hesitate on getting the Pixel 3.
As for its compatibility, the Pixel 3 works on all networks. So you can purchase the flagship and transition easily between Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint. Other carriers are fully compatible, too.
Google isn’t budging on its partnership with Verizon, unfortunately. The nation’s largest carrier remains the only in-store seller of Pixel phones. Everyone else will need to purchase the Pixel 3 through the Google Store or Project Fi.
During checkout, you’ll be choosing the size, storage, and color. Additionally, you can pick up a protection plan and submit trade-in. Everything goes step-by-step in an organized format; therefore, it’s borderline impossible to screw up and get the wrong Pixel 3 configuration. Then wait patiently for units to start shipping on October 17.
Google Pixel Stand
- Price: $79
- Color(s): White
Google unveiled the Pixel Stand. From the outside, it looks like a standard wireless charger. But it does way more than give power to the Pixel 3 family. The Pixel Stand, when paired with Google’s latest flagship, enables a special Google Assistant-powered user interface. All of your need-to-know information, notifications, photos, and videos are shown at a glance.
It’s an exclusive accessory, and thus everyone who’s picking up a Pixel 3 might be looking at the Pixel Stand. Don’t sleep on this one, folks. There’s something special in all that technology the Pixel 3 and the Pixel Stand unlock together.
Be ready to pay a pretty penny if you want this top-of-the-line wireless charger. Google wants $79 for the Pixel Stand, but maybe it’ll be a long-term investment if you hang onto the Pixel 3 or upgrade to future Pixel phones.
The Pixel Stand ships alongside Google’s Pixel 3 later this month.
Google Home Hub
- Price: $149
- Color(s): Charcoal, Chalk, Aqua, Sand
Just as you can hear it, now you can see Google Assistant. The digital assistant already landed on smart displays earlier this year, but Google designed the Home Hub as a first-party solution. It shows valuable information and updates on a 7-inch screen. But you’re still communicating with Google Assistant by voice alone.
The Home Hub joins Google’s lineup on October 17, too. It’s already in high demand as delivery estimates are being pushed back.
You’ll be choosing between Charcoal, Chalk, Aqua, and Sand for the colors. All of them are soft, fabric-based styles that blend in with existing decor. No matter the style you select, the Home Hub’s face is white. Keep that in mind when deciding on this smart display.
If you’re purchasing all three of these products, expect to take a hefty charge. Google isn’t going cheap with its hardware this time around. But there’s special financing through the Google Store that might alleviate some of the concerns you have before pulling the trigger.
No matter what you decide, there’s no shame in picking up some shiny new tech.
We’ll have more on the Pixel 3, Pixel Stand, and Home Hub soon. Be on the lookout for the Pixel Slate as well. While there’s a listing on the Google Store for it, the next-generation Chrome OS device isn’t up for pre-order yet. It should enter the mix by the end of the year.
