Google could not be announcing its new flagship duo soon enough.
There will be a launch event held on October 9 in New York City, but the Pixel 3 and the Pixel 3 XL have been exposed countless times over the last few months. Now we know just about everything these high-end phones offer well in advance despite Google’s best effort to keep them secret until the fall. The leaks keep coming, too. Another batch of press renders has surfaced.
WinFuture obtained multiple photos showing the Pixel 3 line. In the gallery, you’re able to see both models from the front and back. The Pixel 3 will look a lot like last year’s Pixel 2 XL, but the Pixel 3 XL chases after the notch-loving industry trend. Both are identical from the back, though.
The leak does align with what we’ve seen so far from other sources, and insider Roland Quandt has a proven track record to back this up.
Both models have front-facing stereo speakers, but the Pixel 3 XL stores its top cutout in a notch. That’s also where the front dual-camera setup and sensors are located, which its smalling sibling shares. Either there will be advanced facial recognition or a better-than-average selfie-taking experience on these Pixel phones.
Around the back, the Pixel 3 and the Pixel 3 XL embrace single-camera setups. The lens should be 12.2MP and take advantage of an algorithm that magically improves pictures and videos in seconds.
While an edge-to-edge screen is standard, the Pixel 3’s should measure 5.5 inches and have Full HD+ resolution. The Pixel 3 XL, meanwhile, stretches to 6.2 inches and boasts Quad HD+ for enhanced clarity. It’s unclear if the Pixel 3 will have an OLED panel like the Pixel 3 XL.
The flagships are Google’s first mobile devices ever to be developed and manufactured in-house. When it acquired a large piece of HTC’s mobile division last year, Google made it clear that a push into hardware was on the horizon. In 2018, that plan takes effect in a significant capacity.
Alongside the Pixel 3, the Pixelbook 2 and the Home Hub are expected to go official. The Mountain View-based company might have some surprises up its sleeve as well. But we do know for certain that two new high-end phones are the stars of the day. We’re also waiting to hear what exclusive features Google puts on the Pixel 3 to leap ahead of the competition.
