Over the past couple weeks, the Pixel 3 XL has been leaking non-stop from high-res images to full unboxings, literally nothing about it is unknown at this point. Its smaller brother, however, did not suffer the same fate, still retaining some of its mystery. That was until new leaked images ruined any mystery that was left.
The smaller Pixel 3 leaked in new images from 9to5Google that show off what Google’s smaller phone will look like. Unsurprisingly, it looks very much like its big brother except for the display.
The back still retains the all-glass treatment the bigger model comes with that will enable wireless charging for the first time on this product line. It’s the same two-tone Pixel look with the top sporting a shiny glass finish while the bottom has a frosted finish. Thankfully the perfectly mounted fingerprint scanner is returning for a third year.
Differing the Pixel 3 from the Pixel 3 XL is the display, but instead of using a polarizing notch, it has big bezels similar to the Pixel 2 XL. The display will measure in at 5.5-inches with a 2:1 aspect ratio and 440ppi. To be perfectly honest, this design looks much better than the Pixel 3 XL’s as the display maintains a perfect symmetrical finish. And while the bezels are big, they will also have dual front-facing stereo speakers which is as good a reason as any to have bezels in smartphones nowadays.
Spec details were revealed and line up with what was already expecting. The Pixel 3 will come equipped with a Snapdragon 845 processor, Adreno 630 GPU, 2,915mAh battery and 4GB of RAM. It’s a shame it doesn’t come with more RAM, as many Android flagships now feature upwards of 8GB of RAM, but we’ll take it nonetheless.
Google is expected to unveil the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL in October, where it’ll confirm every detail about its new devices.
