Pillars of Eternity, better known as Project Eternity on the Kickstarter front, is coming along nicely within the halls of Obsidian Entertainment, but the company seems to need a little more time to get it just right.

In an expansive update on Kickstarter, which also covers new art and graphics for the old-school stylized RPG, Producer Roze Gomez confirms that the release date earlier set for the spring will not be made, pushing the title into the winter.

We wanted to officially update everyone that we are looking good to release Eternity by Winter 2014. So, look forward to getting your hands on Pillars of Eternity later this year.

So, like most Kickstarter games, you’re going to have to wait an extra few months. Not to worry though, because all of the major games have seen long delays, and all of them clearly benefited from the extra time with the warm reception they’ve received. Take the chance to play another Kickstarter classic like The Banner Saga or Broken Age instead while you are waiting.

In the meantime, here is the art that Obsidian has provided with the update. New character faces, new settings, new monster designs. Everything is new, new, new from this game designed to look like it’s a decade and a half old.

Expect Pillars of Eternity to be released this winter for the PC, Mac and Linux.
