The remains of Google’s event that never was reveals a desolate, lonely picture. A few days before the search giant’s execs were set to unveil what we now know to be the Nexus 4, Nexus 10 and Android 4.2, Hurricane Sandy’s presence down the Eastern Seaboard lead to the show being canceled entirely. There’s a half erected stage, hands-on areas with rumpled cloths, and equipment discarded everywhere.

You’d think Sandy swept through the event’s interior judging from the pictures, but it’s likely a result of the company scrambling to skip town. Having the lights on sure paints a strange scene. The glitz and excitement is gone, and everything is vulnerable and exposed. It’s unfortunate we couldn’t see Google’s proceedings move forward before Sandy impeded its plans, but the company still thankfully unleashed a portfolio of Android goodies.
