Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth is the ultimate fan-service game for the loyal denizens of Atlus’ demonic series. I’m not usually one for fan-service titles, but with Persona 5 also in the works from the main Persona team and the quality Etrian Odyssey team cranking it out, I’m more than willing to accept this one.
The teens from Persona 3 and Persona 4 are teaming up in a brand new Nintendo 3DS adventure, one which pits them as competing demon squads. Together, they must solve a mystery about a clock tower which rises from their high school courtyard.
The new trailer mostly focuses on Persona 3‘s silent protagonist, showing off his moves and how he interacts with his Persona 4 counterpart. A few battle sequences show off the first-person dungeon crawling and battles. The look comes right from older games in the series, and it is a perfect match for Etrian Odyssey fans.
Nobody is bigger or hotter on the JRPG market these days than Atlus, and with the backing of a mega corporation like SEGA, it’s great to see them putting the extra funding into even more superb projects. Four Persona games are currently in the works, and each of them look like a lot of fun.
What’s even more surprising is that Persona is actually a side-series to Shin Megami Tensei, the main RPG series under Atlus’ wing. Shin Megami Tensei IV is one of the best JRPGs from the last few years, but no matter how good it is, these Persona games have completely superseded its parent’s franchise.
The SEGA buyout could be the best thing that ever happened to the company. It just needs to remember the other franchises it had created over the years. Don’t forget about those.

Use a chess clock to keep track of move and play times
These chess clocks feature dual clocks for players to control their own timers, and loud alarms so everyone knows when time is up. These clocks can be used for other 2-person games, like checkers, that may benefit from a game timer.
