A new Paper Mario game is in development for Wii U, sources say. Emily Rogers, who has covered Nintendo extensively in the past, wrote on Twitter this week about the game.

The game, she says, is currently being localized and tested. Rogers hinted at the game early on Saturday, and ended up formally revealing it later that day. The game, she says, is in development by Intelligent Systems, a team that has previously worked on Fire Emblem and Advance Wars in addition to a whole list of Paper Mario titles.

A new Paper Mario game would certainly be appreciated by fans. The last few, pictured above, have been lackluster, but it’s never too late for a return to form. Nintendo doesn’t typically respond to rumors, so it could be a while before we get confirmation on this from the company.
